Financial upheaval forces a 16-year-old teenage deaf girl, Valmira, to leave her progressive school in Athens and return to her father’s struggling island. There, she is confronted with the danger of prejudice and intolerance — most shockingly, her own.
Maria Douza
Maria Douza is writer and director of fiction films, documentaries and commercials. Her first feature film The Tree and the Swing (2013) was shown in many festivals worldwide and has just been bought by Netflix. Her second film Listen (2022) was selected to participate in Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival.
