Under the hot Greek sun and amidst the sweaty nights of an eternal summer, the story of a group of hotel entertainers unfolds slowly among fun games, dance shows and nightly encounters behind the scenes.
Sofia Exarchou
Sofia Exarchou was born in Athens, where she graduated in electrical engineering and film studies. She studied theater at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York and completed post-graduate film studies in Toulouse. She has worked as an assistant director on feature films and commercials and has been a freelance director and screenwriter since 2009. She has written and directed two short films; Distance and the award-winning Mesecina. In 2014, she was selected for the Sundance Screenwriters & Directors Lab. Park, her first feature film, premiered at the Toronto IFF and the San Sebastian IFF, where it won the New Directors Award. Ever since, the film has participated in numerous international film festivals and won awards (Rotterdam IFF, BFI London Film Festival, Thessaloniki IFF – Best Actress & Best Greek Film, European Film Festival Palić – Best European Film, Greek Film Academy – Best First Feature Film & Best Sound Award etc.). Her second feature film, Animal, had its world premiere in the International Competition section of the 76th Locarno International Film Festival 2023, where it won the Pardo for Best Performance for Dimitra Vlagopoulou.
