On the 16th of January 2019 the 4th edition of HELLAS FILMBOX BERLIN kicks off at Babylon cinema, Mitte.

Pantelis Voulgaris’ “The Last Note” will open the biggest Greek speaking film festival in Europe with the presence of the director himself and leading actor André Hennicke.

The highlight of the Opening Event is the presentation of the world-famous Ballad of Mauthausen by the legendary international singer Maria Farantouri. The German version of the “most beautiful musical work ever dedicated to the victims of the Holocaust” will be performed by the German artist Michaela Meise.

The songs of the “Mauthausen” circle by Mikis Theodorakis are dedicated to “All who did not bow to the cruelty of fascism”. The circle of Mauthausen is based on the texts of the poet Iakovos Kambanellis, a survivor of the infamous concentration camp in Mauthausen, Austria, and tells a love story that bloomed into the camps of death.
