Evi Filippou

Evi Filippou is a Berlin-based Greek vibraphonist, percussionist, performer and composer working at the crossroads of composition, improvisation, and multicultural expression. Sebastian Scotney (UK Jazznews) describes her work as “experimental and full of joy at the same time – without any weaknesses”. Citizen Jazz also points out that Filippou is a European musician who transcends styles and boundaries and, thanks to her classical training, especially on the vibraphone, she is familiar with a wide variety of musical contexts.
Her project inEvitable was awarded with the 2023 German Jazz Prize for Debut Album of the Year. Other important milestones in her career are the Filippou & Lucaciu duo, as well as numerous collaborations with artists, such as Elias Stemeseder, Angelika Niescier, and the Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra.
