Brando with a Glass Eye – by Antonis Tsonis
Athens, Greece. A method actor commits a heist that goes wrong. He befriends the critically injured victim and tries to reconcile his guilt before his one-shot audition in New York.
Antonis Tsonis
Greek born, writer/director, Antonis studied law and history and received his Doctorate in Jurisprudence from the University of Melbourne, Australia. Antonis’ narrative and visual inspiration comes from Italian neorealist cinema, the French poetic realists and the independent American new wave movement of the 70’s. A contemporary filmmaker, Antonis is especially focused on stories about characters struggling on the fringes of society. His themes are contemporary, and his style is timeless – his stories could be set in any language or in any city. His last two short films has screened in over 100 film festivals and received many awards and nominations worldwide for Best Original Screenplay, Best Director and Best Short Film in several international film festivals. Notable screenings, Official Selections and awards were celebrated at the 57th Thessaloniki Film Festival in Greece, the 34th Sulmona International Film Festival in Italy, the 43rd Athens International Film Festival in Ohio, USA, Flickerfest in Australia, the Drama International Short Film Festival in Greece, the Magnolia Independent Film Festival in Mississippi, USA and the Manhattan Film Festival in New York. Brando with a Glass Eye is his debut feature film.
