Also, worth noting is the artistic approach taken by the director with animated sequences to include events in the courtroom that could not be filmed with her camera. The Short Film Award 2025 went to Honeymoon by Alki Papastathopoulos

The winner of the Short Film Award, which is accompanied by the amount of 500 euros and sponsored by Illuseum Berlin, was the short film Honeymoon by Alki Papastathopoulos under the following justification:

“-Where are you travelling to?
-To France.
-For holiday?
-To a farm. I’ll be working.
-And what exactly will you be doing?
-I’ll be picking grapes and strawberries.
-We have plenty of oranges here, too.
-No, for girls like us, there are no oranges.”

“It was this line that grabbed us, capturing the essence of a film that reminds us of the realities of the trans community and the need to still support equity and inclusion. Always. Everywhere. It’s the poignant acting and decisive editing that allows the audience to travel along with the characters. Feeling the intimacy and vulnerability as if first hand. The relationships between these characters were fun, authentic and moving. What could have been a story about victims, became a story about heroes. The jury is proud to give the award for best short film sponsored by Illuseum Berlin and accompanied by the amount of 500 euros to Honeymoon by Alki Papastathopoulos.”

The award was received by Nassia Sydeta, main actress of the film.
