Food comes first, morals follow on. A comic tragedy about an obscure but uncompromising 60-year-old jobless journalist, who would rather starve to death than betray his principles – yet ends up becoming the leader of a clan of freeloaders, who sneak into Athenian receptions, in order to fill their guts with free food.

Tsitos’ first feature film Home Sweet Home was selected for the 2001 Berlinale (Official Competition). His second, Plato’s Academy (2009) garnered the Best Male Actor Award at Locarno Festival. His film Unfair World (2011) won Best Director and Best Male Actor prizes at San Sebastian IFF. Since 2000, Tsitos has directed three feature films, approx. 70 TV-movies for the German television and several TV-commercials.
